Exciting New Rand Water Race for Victory MTB Challenge on Sat, 9 September 2017!
August 14, 2017
This year, for the first time Frances Vorwerg School in conjunction with Rand Water Board will be hosting a “New” Mountain Bike race on Saturday 09 September, and then of course our traditional Classic and infamous Road Race will take place on the Sunday!

The inaugural 2017 Rand Water Race for Victory Mountain Bike  Challenge (and the Road Race)  will use the infamous Circus in Daleside as the start finish venue!

We invite the whole family to come enjoy a day/morning in the sun.  Two distances are on offer, namely an easy 20 km for novices and youngsters,  and then a more demanding 50 km for the more experienced riders! (Note both the 50 km and the 20 km routes are not “technical” and riders should not have to dismount their trusty steeds)

The 50 km route will include some district roads,  mountain side jeep tracks, enjoyable single tracks and with a bit of gradual climbing to test your fitness!   Overall  the route must be considered flattish, fast, furious for the top riders (the winning time of the winner should be close to 1hr 50 min).  Of course Dust (no water crossings) will play a role.  Decent prize monies are up for grabs for the riders who wish to be competitive and some generous lucky draw prizes for the casual riders.

After the race enjoy some good food, music and a craft beer stall serving Jack Black.
